A 300,000-ton hot-rolled titanium plate and composite materials project was launched today at Lianyuan Steel’s plant in Hunan. It marks a key step in strengthening the titanium industry and supports Loudi’s “Materials Valley” development.

The ceremony was chaired by Acting Mayor He Zhaohui. Attendees included senior officials, academic experts, and industry leaders.

In his speech, Secretary Zeng Chaoqun highlighted the project’s role in boosting local titanium processing and building a full industrial chain base in central China—the emerging “Titanium Valley.” He urged a focus on safety, quality, and speed.

The project will fill a regional gap in large-scale titanium plate production and enhance China’s self-sufficiency in strategic materials.

Leveraging Lianyuan Steel’s expertise and partnerships, the new production line will be a model of intelligent, green manufacturing and steel-titanium integration.

It is expected to strengthen Hunan’s titanium supply chain, lower costs, and increase the competitiveness of locally produced titanium materials.

Lianyuan Steel has committed to completing the project to high standards and on schedule.

After the ceremony, guests toured the hot-rolling facilities. The Lianyuan Steel Titanium Materials initiative reinforces the company’s role in driving regional industrial growth, with Lianyuan Steel Titanium Materials set to become a cornerstone of China’s materials strategy.
